Another day, another step closer to finishing this new album and letting you all hear it. We spent last weekend at Studio Greg creating some final mixes of the album that we were all happy with. We finally landed on the right formula, and are now hearing the album in its finest state. It’s hard to believe it’s real. There are a couple more steps in the way before we can finally sit back and navigate it’s arrival. Thank you again for your support, patience and anticipation. It is honestly so inspiring to see so many people excited about this album.
When we were writing this album, we spent most of the process locked up in our hometowns, in various practice spaces. We didn’t interact with many humans outside the bands and our families. The writing process really took us to a dark place and we honestly doubted a few times if we’d return.
But late last year was a rebirthing period. Those who have seen us live and interacted with us since this time can attest that we are a new band, we are new people. To some of you, this may come as a disappointment. Being an avid music fan myself, I would definitely be disappointed to learn that a band I enjoyed did a complete 180 and started writing and acting in a different fashion, especially if it was a fashion I was not familiar with. But you must know that this change was essential. There was no way we could continue on the same path, we were burying ourselves. We are very proud of the album we’ve wrote and we feel with 100% confidence it is our greatest effort yet.
We are out with a full head of steam, ready for the busy year that follows. First up is the upcoming tour with our good friends Caspian. As stated before, we’re really looking forward to getting out and seeing all of you. Let’s talk and trade thoughts. That’s what this all is, a huge conversation.
We can never say it enough, but thank you all for this last year of support. You’ll never know how much your words of encouragement and anticipation have meant. Thank you to Sargent House and our good friend Zach Cepin for dealing with our tardiness and giving us time to reform. Let’s move through 2013 like never before.
Nice (re)start for this new album!
An other new song by Native and you can finally watch their full show in Paris on Skeudothèque’s Youtube playlist.
